a combination of Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG)
Propylene glycol is a common agent usually mixed with vegetable glycerin in e-juices. Propylene glycol (PG) is a stable carbohydrate compound that is clear, colorless and practically tasteless. It has a thin consistency, is low in toxicity and has a high boiling point. It’s broad solvency make it ideal for use in making e-juices.
Vegetable Glycerin is a considerably thicker solution, compared to propylene glycol. On its own, VG has a slight sweet taste. PG is very light so vegetable glycerin is mixed to add consistency and increase vapour volume to most e-juices available in market. The mix juices usually don’t have gunk build up on the heating element of the e cigarette as fast as it does when thicker vegetable glycerin liquid is used. Some people have reported minor irritations when using PG heavy e juices. If you experience any unusual symptoms after vaping PG e-liquid, it’s best to stop using it immediately and switch to vegetable glycerin only solution.
